Northern Harbour

The Northern Harbour is a part of Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, offering multimodal transport solutions and excellent infrastructure by sea, rail, road and air.

To develop the competitiveness of the Öresund Region the City of Malmö and CMP are currently investing USD 125 million in modern infrastructure. A brand-new, ultra-modern goods and ferry terminal is under construction that will enable optimization of trimodal transport flows, will be completed in 2011.

The Northern Harbour in Malmö will be a natural choice for centralized logistic operations in Scandinavia, the Baltic countries and northern Germany. From reclaimed land we can offer land for harbour based logistic hubs for northern Europe. A base in or around Malmö means rapid access to large and expanding markets, 25 million consumers in Scandinavia and about 125 million in northern Europe.

To attract companies with operations that make big demands on distribution and logistics we will build a state-of-the-art logistics centre. The new development in the Northern Harbour covers 750,000 sqm for manufacturing and transport industries providing value adding and working opportunities.

Today, around twenty companies such as Stena Recycling and Evonik Norcarb operate in the North Harbour and Oil Harbour area, mostly in recycling and chemical products. HeidelbergCement is also relocating its operations from Limhamn to the North Harbour where the building of a new cement terminal is already underway.
